SSPJ plays in the Stateliner Youth Softball Association league (SYSA), an all girls league made up with teams from local towns - The furthest travel is 15 minutes.

New coaches are welcome! (fingerprinting, background check and a Protecting God’s Children class are required) If anyone has questions contact Matt Minutaglio at 908-247-9325 or sspjsoftball@gmail.com.

Pony Softball

Attention Parents of Girls in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades: Has your daughter shown an interest in wanting to play softball, but you’re not sure if they’re “old enough” to start playing? Well, luckily for them (and you), we have just the program for them here at SSPJ - Pony Softball! Pony softball is a combination of Coach Pitch and Tee Ball.

Every at bat will start out with coach pitch, and if the batter is unable to make contact after a few pitches, the batter gets a chance to hit off the tee. Meaning every at bat will result in some kind of a hit, which everyone loves! In addition, the fundamentals of the sport will be taught all season long - the proper way to throw and catch a ball, good batting techniques, etc. SSPJ encourages all girls to come out for the team - the more the merrier. And, if you’ve already signed up for spring soccer, don’t worry - we work with the soccer coaches to ensure that there are hardly ever any practice or game conflicts.

If you have any questions or concerns, or if you are interested in helping coach the team, please feel free to reach out to Matt Minutaglio, SSPJ Softball Director, at sspjsoftball@gmail.com. We hope to get a lot of girls signed up!
